Tank Maintenance and The Importance of Blended Fuel

With winter approaching, now is the perfect time to fill your fuel tanks and ensure that all filters on your pumping equipment are in top condition. A little preventative maintenance now can save you from costly downtime later. Start by draining any water from your tanks to prevent algae growth, which can wreak havoc on your equipment. If algae develop in your tank, it can spread to other equipment through the fuel nozzle, causing issues with injectors and the entire fuel system. A $10.00 filter is a small investment compared to a trip to the repair shop, and we have spin-on filters available at our office.

For those who operate diesel-powered equipment during the winter months, we strongly recommend switching to blended fuel in the fall. Don’t wait until January’s cold temperatures catch you off guard. Even if your loader or tractor isn’t in use in November, the fuel system still needs to be treated before winter hits.

If you have any questions about fuel or lubricants, please stop by our office at 7th and Fulton. If you can’t make it in, feel free to call us at 620.276.8301. From all of us at GCC we truly appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
